KAWARTHA LAKES-The bridge on Monck Road in Sebright is scheduled to reopen today.

The bridge was closed on August 18th after a tractor-trailer slammed into the cement guardrail damaging the structure. Monck Road was closed between Hills Road and Young Street.

The city said it was consulting an engineer and was working to get the bridge open as soon as possible.

“The guiderail was damaged at 3 out of 4 approaches and the barrier wall on the bridge was damaged on both sides. The road should re-open next week.”  Bryan Reid, Communications, CKL told Kawartha 411 News on August 24th.

The City says the bridge has been deemed safe and will reopen today.
